A new year, so it must be time for a new mixtape from our very own 'Jester from Leicester', Pasquale. Expect the usual blend of just about everything that will make you bounce on the dancefloor and accompany your 'well earned' rest from revision. Bar9 have been at it again, the difference this time is they have been noticed by none other than living legend Pete Tong. Not a man to fill his show with dubstep, Bar9 featured in Tongy's essential selection on Friday with their remix of Paul Harris' I Want You'.



Their unmistakable bass driven sound is evident throughout, as they look set to emulate the likes of Nero and even Chase & Status in providing productions that are guaranteed to smash dancefloors wherever you go. The record will be out on CR2 records soon enough, for now though you'll have to put up with Tongy papping on over the top of it.

SBTRKT - Ready for 2010?

The defining sound of 2010 may have already been decided. With a rejuvenated garage sound causing a stir in the underground, Fabric have already set their stall out with their opening fabriclive line-up of 2010. Friday night included US garage legend Todd Edwards smashing Room 1 apart, whilst everyones tip for 2010 Joy Orbison took care of business in Room 2. One thing is for certain, 2010 is going to be an exciting year for bass heavy music.

One man riding high on this excitement is SBTRKT. Nobody quite knows who this man is or where he comes from, but he certainly knows how to make a beat. 2010 already looks to surpass his 2009, with a minimix lined up for Annie Mac in February and a guest mix already out for Skream's Stella Sessions on Rinse. The mix is already up and posted and includes his new remix of Modeselektor's Art & Cash, which can only be described as 'stunning'. Download the mix from his soundcloud page here...

Clever Monkey - Symbiosis EP

We mentioned before christmas our boy Matt Perrett working on new projects after his move back down south. As promised the brand new Clever Monkey EP 'Symbiosis' is out now on Basspunch records. The EP includes some incredibly well produced dubs, with our highlight the lead track 'O2B' sampling some old school Moloko vibes.
